PPL has today revealed its traditional annually updated most played Christmas songs of the century with The Pogues, Fairytale of New York, regaining the top spot with Last Christmas by Wham! at number two.

Based on airplay from last year, there has been some change in the chart with the previous number one, Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You, slipping to number three and The Pogues' hit climbing back to the top spot.

The top ten is as follows:
