The EIS offers tax relief to investors.

The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) is designed to help smaller higher-risk trading companies to raise finance by offering a range of tax reliefs to investors who purchase new shares in those companies.

HMRC is conducting seminars to explain EIS, including the rules surrounding companies using the scheme and investors investing in those companies. The seminars would consist of an explanatory talk followed by a question and answer session.

Ian Livingstone, Chair of the Creative Industries Council access to finance working group, says: "EIS is a potentially useful scheme for improving access to finance for the digital and creative industries, but is not currently well understood or used by many in the sector. I would encourage Creative Industry Council members to get involved and promote these seminars to colleagues and members."
