The Wiggle High5 team select their favourite cycle tracks

Cycling is a sport whose profile has steadily been on the rise over the past few years; so much so that it’s now one of our best-loved pastimes.

In fact there are now over 670,000 cyclists on the road in London every day and just last week a study published in the British Medical Journal found that cycling to work could potentially half the risk of developing cancer or heart disease.

Whilst caution should be taken whilst cycling on the road listening to music, it can be a great tool to get you in the mood for the morning commute or help you prepare for a long road race.  PPL caught up with the Wiggle High5 cycling team – the leading women’s cycle team in the world – as they prepare for the three-day Tour de Yorkshire race starting on 28th April. 

Two of their riders, sisters Grace and Lucy Garner are originally from Leicester too, the chosen location of the new music business joint venture between PPL and PRS for Music, due to launch later this year.

“I'm listening to 'Endless Day' by Verona”

What's your favourite song at the moment?

“I have many songs that I like because I love music.  If I have to choose one that means a lot to me, especially over the last months, then I’ll choose 'You Get What You Give' by New Radicals.  I was listening to it when I went to the start of the Olympics on the bus.  It's iconic for me.”


Annette Edmondson

“Everything!  It's all on there, from old to new.  Race warm-ups though, are all about loud, current dance and pop music!”
