PPL sign new agreement with Vanderquest

Vanderquest will continue managing the PPL Video Store service, which contains over 50,000 music videos.

Music licensing company PPL and its sister company VPL have today announced that they have signed a new agreement with Vanderquest.

A three year agreement has been signed between the companies and it will see Vanderquest, a post‑production house that has been specialising in the music and broadcast industries for over 30 years continue to manage the PPL Video Store. One of the largest music video archives in globally with over 50,000 music videos, all videos are stored and made available digitally with registered users able to search, view and source clips online.

Since 1984, PPL’s sister company VPL has managed the storing and licensing of an extensive music video archive to registered users such as broadcasters and production companies requiring their use for playing in public or through broadcasting platforms. One of the oldest videos held in the PPL Video Store library dates back to 1961 with The Shadows’ classic hit ‘Apache’. The comprehensive archive also boasts prestigious live footage as well as such legendary music videos as Bjork’s ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’, Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’ and ‘Ashes to Ashes’ by David Bowie. A partnership between PPL and Vanderquest was first agreed in November 2015 and saw the video archives of the two respective companies combine.

Jez Bell, Chief Licensing Officer at PPL commented: “Vanderquest has one of the largest archives of music videos and live footage in the music industry and we are pleased to extend our partnership with them.  Music videos remain an important and exciting form of media for many broadcasters and businesses and we look forward to being able to continue providing the PPL Video Store service to them.”

Oliver Maingay, Director at Vanderquest / PPL Video Store commented:  “PPL is an established industry leader and plays a crucial role in terms of looking after the rights of performers and record companies and ensuring that they get paid fairly for their work.  We are one of the largest commercially available music video libraries in the world and are excited about continuing to collaborate with them by helping to manage the PPL Video Store.”

Music videos are stored at www.pplvideostore.com and are now available in a number of formats.
